About me
About me
Information on the coverage, studio sessions, packages etc I offer is readily available on other pages, but what you also get when you book your photography session, is me (for the duration of your photography session only) so you should know what it is you're getting....

The studio is based in Nelson on Lomeshaye Industrial Estate and along with studio work, I often venture outdoors on location. I am an experienced and qualified, professional photographer and lecturer from Colne, Lancashire. Although my experience in photography stems from my teenage years, I have been a professional photographer for well over a decade.

I am very family orientated. Married with five children of various ages (and one dog), I know how much photographs of your growing family will mean to you. I always aim to produce timeless photographs that you can display in your home for years to come. That's why I keep my editting style simple and I don't pay too much attention to some of the fads or fashions that are around at the time. Whilst I'm always happy to try new ideas, the use of a lot of props or styling can mean that your photographs will age or go out of fashion quickly.  In the studio, I use limited, simple props along with natural posing and gender neutral colours for newborns, and rely on a good relationship (and a lot of patience) with older children to really make their character be the focus of the photograph.

I love having children of all ages in the studio. Whether they are shy, outgoing or completely barmy at times, fun is an essential part of their whole photography experience and I prefer this to a 'sit and smile' approach. Tell me all about them if you're getting in touch for a shoot too, it helps when I'm putting a plan together for your shoot and with young or shy children I find it's easier to come to the studio a little while before your session starts so they can get used to the environment.

I rate my success on customer satisfaction. I've worked with a wide variety of clients with different needs and my priority is ensuring that my clients are happy. Over the years this has meant visiting homes to measure up for end products, sourcing frames to match ones clients already have, and creating shoots that fit with the scheme of the home. If you are looking for a piece for a place in your home, send me photos of where it's going to go before your shoot! I can work on a plan for your shoot so that your photographs work in your home, discuss ideas with you and even offer advice. I am very much of the belief that I am a photographer and not a sales person, I'm happy to suggest things but I don't want anyone to walk away with something that they dont want so I will certainly never become a 'hard sell' type of person. I think there is a belief that if you pay a small sitting fee you will be charged excessively if you order end products so I am as transparent as possible when it comes to pricing, I make sure its available so there are no shocks or surprises.

If you would like to chat about your plans, please get in touch! You can do this through the 'contact' page or using the details below
